You are warmly invited to join our Walk and Celebrations on the Trans Pennine Trail (part of Euroroute E8) sponsored by the TPT Project and Ramblers¹ Association
Sunday 25 June 2006, 11.30 am, from Penistone Market Place CP, (8m west of Barnsley)
Travel: By road on B6462, close to A628 (M1, J37)
By train: Penistone Station from Barnsley or Sheffield
Walk to Moor End, Silkstone Common. Please bring own packed lunch.
Rally at c.1.30pm; continue at c. 2.30pm for Northern College Wentworth
Shuttle for drivers from Wentworth back to Penistone
c. 5.30pm: optional guided walk round Wentworth Gardens, £3 (Grade 1 Listed gardens)
This event forms part of the European Ramblers¹ Association¹s 2006 celebrations of walking in Europe. The TPT is part of the European Long Distance Footpath E8 from Ireland to Istanbul, and is the first designated E Route in the UK. The event is supported by the Barnsley & Penistone and other RA Groups. We will be joined on the walk by friends from the Dutch ³Wandelplatform² and Belgian ³Grote Routepaden,² arriving by ferry in Hull on Sun 25th at 8.30am, returning Mon 26th after a visit to York.
