| Excursion I. – La Roche de Solutré (2 hrs./ 8 km hike) The ascent of the Roche de Solutré is a walk accessible to everyone, with no major difficulty. Reaching an altitude of 493 meters, the 8-kilometer route has an elevation gain of 200 meters. Along the way, you will find a series of information panels inviting you to explore the many aspects of this historic site. The trail is carefully laid out for your comfort, with numerous steps. | |||

How to go there:
By car :
Mâcon is located in the south of the Saône-et-Loire department, and is served by the A6, E15 and E21 motorways.
By train:
Mâcon is served by 2 stations: Mâcon ville and Mâcon Loché TGV, the latter a few kilometres from the town of Mâcon. You will be met at both stations.
By air:
4 airports can welcome you : Geneva, Lyon Saint-Exupéry and, possibly, Paris Charles de Gaulle or Paris Orly. From the airport, you can reach Mâcon by train (TER or TGV):
From Geneva :
Go to the SNCF station to take the train to Mâcon, via Lyon Part-Dieu (allow around 3 hours 30 minutes.
From Lyon Saint-Exupéry :
Take the Rhône-Express tramway (red) to Lyon Part-Dieu station, then take the TER (50 mins) to Mâcon-ville or the TGV to Mâcon Loché TGV (35 mins).
From Paris Charles de Gaulle or Paris Orly :
Take the RER or metro to Gare de Lyon.
From the station, take the TGV to Mâcon-Loché TGV station (approx. 1 hour 40 minutes).
