Basics for walking

One of the prime goals of the European Ramblers’ Association (ERA) is to help walkers organize and lead their walks competently in order to make them as enjoyable as possible.

The intention of the creation of this website is that it should be open not only to the member organizations of ERA, but also to the general public.

You are interested in walking, but you’re not sure if it is for you?

  • First of all: Walking is possible at any age and any time.
  • Most of all: Walking is healthy for body and mind, giving the whole person resilience.

Walking becomes an experience, when certain things are taken into account. Most important is: don’t overdo things, in order not to sustain physical damage.
