European Walking Day

28 September @ 08:00 17:00

Motto for 2024 “We listen to nature

When you walk and hike in nature do you listen to NATURE? Did you think that sound can help us understand environmental change?

Sounds are omnipresent in nature and many species’ life depends on their acute hearing.  Humans are part of nature, and this means that we also pay attention to sounds.

Listening to nature sounds offers a myriad of benefits encompassing biological, psychological, and neurological realms. However, we can also shut down what we listen to if our emotions or worldviews don’t agree with what we are hearing.

Listening to natural soundscapes can deliver an immediate calming effect, helping us to change our biological, psychological and neurological systems in the following ways:

  • Helps you relax and recharge
  • Improves mental health and wellbeing
  • Relaxes muscles and reduces stress
  • Helps you focus and concentration
  • Enhances creativity
  • Improves quality of sleep
  • Nature as a source of healing
  • Medicine with no side affects

Please promote and report us after you celebrated EWD (it will be also published) and enlarge the European walking family!
